“Cheshire” shifts to Social to drive Digital Engagement

With a growing number of people favouring digital channels to engage with local bodies, Cheshire West and Chester Council, Wulvern Housing and Cheshire Police have all signed-up to an innovative social media management platform to deliver their services and help drive down costs.

Social customer service has quickly grown to become a key communication channel over recent years, leading organisations to now find a cross-departmental solution that manages their online presence, whilst remaining completely transparent and compliant via auditing.

With more and more customers  turning to our various social media channels to get in touch and access our services, it was paramount for us to find a solution which enabled colleagues from across the organisation to use these channels in a controlled and auditable way. With over 15,000 customers across Cheshire, social media allows us to engage with our customers in a quick and cost effective way. SocialSignin provides a platform and app whereby field and office-based colleagues from across the organisation can engage with customers and community partners wherever they are!”, said Ceris Esplen, Head of Marketing & Communications at Wulvern Housing.

With the rapidly growing demand in social customer care, these Cheshire-based public bodies needed to find a scalable solution that could be quickly adopted by a wide user-base, both for customer care and community communications. By partnering with Birmingham-based social media management platform, SocialSignIn, they have been able to successfully implement the solution into multiple departments and locations, giving them the ability to route queries to the most suitable department and quickly resolve them.

We are always striving to offer a high level of customer care, social channels are a fast and a more cost-efficient method. SocialSignIn helps us to manage the incoming messages we receive better. Doing what we do would be impossible without a social media management system and SocialSignIn was the ideal solution.”, said Damian Beaumont, Senior Digital Marketing Manager, Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Ben Nimmo, SocialSignIn Founder and CTO, said, “Public sector organisations are starting to see the benefits of social customer care. It’s completely scalable, so can easily be implemented across an organisations operating within tight budgets – allowing them to deliver fast enquiry resolution in a safe and compliant way”
